The Strollers is a walking group which covers distances of between 3 and 5 miles on Tuesday mornings (weather permitting).

Walks are mainly in the Sussex countryside within a 30 minute drive from Brighton. An ability to walk at a comfortable pace for about 2 hours is required. We encourage all members to offer to lead walks, while appreciating that this is not always possible.

STROLLERS WALKING GROUP GUIDELINES

Start Time: The walks start at 10.30 am and finish at around 12.30 to 1 pm. Members usually arrive 15 to 30 minutes before setting off. Walks usually end up at a pub or cafe where we can enjoy a well earned drink and / or lunch.

Meeting Point: Walk details and starting points are emailed to group members in advance. If you have difficulty locating the meeting point on the day, please contact the Walk Leader by mobile.

The Weather: If a walk cannot take place because of the weather or unforeseen circumstances, an email message will be sent to members by 9 am on the day of the walk. There is also a WhatsApp group for Strollers and updates are also sent in WhatsApp messages. A link for Strollers WhatsApp will be sent to new members, if they wish to join .

Car Sharing: is encouraged, particularly when paying car parks are used. Please use our WhatsApp group or contact the Walk or Group Leader if you need a lift. See also Care Share Guidelines.

Health & Safety: Walkers are responsible for their own safety generally and should wear suitable footwear (waterproof walking shoes are recommended) and clothing. They should not stray off route or walk in advance of the walk leader. They should carry their PPu3a membership card with emergency contact details.

First Aid: The Walk or Group Leader will carry a basic first aid kit and a mobile phone.

Insurance: All u3as are covered by Public Liability Insurance only. This is not personal accident cover.
