Anne Bickmore will give a talk on 'The work of the ABC Fund' (www.abcfund.org). Anne set up this charity in 1991 to help underprivileged children. It is a well established children's charity entirely run by volunteers which provides trips and treats for local children facing adversity. In 2013 Anne received the British Empire Medal in the Queen's honours list for her charity work.

Any contribution towards the ABC Fund will be very welcome.  Anne will bring a collecting tin and a SumUp facility.  Members can also donate by cheque, BACS, JustGiving or The Big Give, with Gift Aid where appropriate.

Gill Bidwell will also be collecting u3a members' donations for the Gathering Place Foodbank in Hollingbury (facebook link). Preferred donations are dried pasta, rice and tins of meat. The foodbank serves an average of 35 households, approximately 90 to 100 people, each week.
