No longer in full time employment?
Want to stay physically active?
Want to keep your mind active?
Want to be busy and challenged?
Like to meet similarly minded people?
Then Preston Park u3a is for you!
Named after the medieval village of Preston in Brighton, Preston Park u3a was formed in November 2007 and now has over 460 members. We have around 60 different learning and activity interest groups run by members for our members. We are continually trying to start up more groups, with members' help, to meet demand. We are one of over 1,000 u3as nationally with a total membership of around 400,000. u3a is also an international as well as a national movement.
Our national motto is LEARN, LAUGH, LIVE and our aim is to provide for your ongoing development and well-being in the so called Third Age. u3a is about keeping active, mentally, physically and socially when full time employment has ended. We encourage you to learn for pleasure, gain new skills, try new experiences and visit new places as part of our various interest groups and to make new friends. There are no exams to pass or qualifications to be gained but you will meet new ideas and people in a friendly, co-operative and informal atmosphere.
Membership of Preston Park u3a will entitle you to:
- Sign up for our Interest Groups and other visits and events
- Receive our Monthly Updates with news of our activities and forthcoming events
- Attend our Monthly General Meetings, most of which have an external speaker
- Receive u3a Matters magazines by post five times a year
If you are no longer working full time and want to join us, please see our Membership page.
